Show Recap: COLD CAVE @ Eagle Rock Center for the Arts

Jojo couldn't go to Cold Cave at the last minute so he gave me his tickets. It was D's birthday on Friday and we didn't have any plans, although we were thinking of going to CSS at The Observatory. But you don't say no to tickets for a sold out Cold Cave show!

I'm so glad we went. It was a lot of fun and certainly muuuuch better than the last time we saw Cold Cave. It must've been because it was an actual headlining show instead of opening.

Anyway, Wesley Eisold and co. played a really good show. D and I had a major danceathon and came out of the venue drenched in sweat. I can't speak for the many, many people NOT dancing. Like, how do you go to a Cold Cave show and not enjoy yourself? It doesn't make sense. For a sold out show it sure didnt look like it.

More than 75% of the time few people had their phones out instagram-ing, vine-ing, facebook-ing, etc., the whole show. Don't get me wrong, it's totally cool if you wanna take a few pictures for your Instagram or your blog or whatever, lord knows I definitely took one picture, but do you really need to be on your phone the whole entire time? What you do on your own time is definitely your own business but I can't help but feel that social media, as great as it is, is hindering our ability to just solely enjoy ourselves. Take a few pictures, a short video, whatever, then put your phone away. Enjoy yourself! Maybe even dance a little, you might end up having a much better time.
